Handing over the care of a baby for the first time is a huge step for any parent. Here at Little Hands we will help to settle children into our care over a period of short introductory sessions in our nurseries. We will talk to parents in great detail about each baby’s home routine and we will endeavour to accommodate any special requests that parents may have.
Our nursery units are self contained units incorporating a spacious play area, a milk kitchen, nappy changing room and a sleeping room for 10/12 children.
From the moment a child is born they are learning, immediately exploring the sights, sounds and textures of the world around them. In the nursery the emphasis is on providing a safe, caring and developmentally stimulating environment with opportunities for stimulation in the following areas: visual stimulation, manipulative stimulation, language development, and energetic play. The environment is geared to being child centred and so the care and education provided involves the whole child and includes concern for the child’s physical, cognitive and social development.
